Chris Pevreal is a highly experienced Senior Engineering Geologist with a strong background in geotechnical consulting. With over 15 years of professional experience, Chris has worked for both large and small scale engineering firms in New Zealand and the UK. He brings a wealth of geotechnical expertise to the MaCC team.

Chris joined MaCC in January 2024, incorporating his own geotechnical company into the organization. Throughout his career, he has been involved in a wide range of projects, including landslip repairs, geotechnical hazard recovery, and the design of engineered structures. Notable projects that Chris has contributed to include the Christchurch earthquake response (2011), the North Canterbury Transport Infrastructure Recovery (2017), and repairs to Coromandel state highway following Cyclone Gabrielle (2023).

Chris takes pride in his practical approach to problem-solving and clear and friendly communication. With his extensive experience, Chris is well-equipped to discuss, align scope, and carry out geotechnical investigations tailored to fit a client’s project and budget. He is skilled in interpreting ground conditions with his extensive local geological knowledge, with a passion to deliver cost effective solutions.

Outside of Work

Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with his young family where they reside near Cambridge. He is an avid outdoorsman. When he finds spare time, he’s either playing squash or on a mission fishing, diving, boating, hunting etc.
