Jonathan Watkinson

Since joining MaCC, Jonathan has gained diverse experience across civil and geotechnical engineering, including three waters and infrastructure design, geotechnical site investigations and inspections, CAD drafting, construction monitoring, project administration, and quality assurance. He has been involved in a range of residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects throughout the Waikato region, gaining valuable experience across both design and on-site aspects of engineering.
Jonathan continues to develop his technical capabilities, with experience in AutoCAD and a growing focus on 12d modelling for civil design. His technical skills also include 12d Synergy, Bluebeam, ArcGIS, AutoTURN, and Microsoft Office.

Jonathan’s strong communication skills and mature approach to his work enable him to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and colleagues. He consistently seeks opportunities to expand his knowledge and refine his technical abilities, demonstrating a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes. Jonathan enjoys applying his engineering skills to practical projects, particularly those that support the growth and development of communities across the Waikato region.

Outside of Work
Jonathan resides in Hamilton and enjoys keeping active, spending time in nature, making coffee, and catching up with family and friends. Born in Auckland, he spent part of his childhood in both Auckland and Wellington, bringing a broad perspective and creativity to his engineering work.
